Japanese Style Acupuncture

Japanese Style acupuncture is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine and shares a simillar understanding of the acupuncture fundamental theory and acupuncture points and channels.

Here is what makes Japanese Style Acupuncture unique -

1. Gentle Needling technique

In Japanese style Acupuncture the needles are very thin and inserted superficially, and in some instances, they are not inserted at all. There is usually no manipulation of the needle. Each treatment will begin with contact needling at specific points to build up a person's constitution and address the root cause of the current conditions. This gentle needling technique is great for highly sensitive people (HSPs).

Every person is born with a constitutional deficiency of one of the body’s systems. We look at different characteristics and features of the individual to help us assess what the constitutional deficiency is and how it led to the current state of imbalance and disease. A treatment will simultaneously address the root cause of the current conditions and the symptoms that brought you to us.

2. A Strong Emphasis on Intuition & Touch

In Japanese style Acupuncture, the diagnosis is very hands-on, and there is much emphasis on touch. The abdomen is considered the center of the body and therefor is palpated in order to decide which acupuncture points are most appropriate for the individual patient. Another diagnostic tool we utilize is taking your pulse and looking at your tongue which gives us additional information about what is going on in the deeper level in the body.
