What can be treated with acupuncture?

Traditional Chinese Medicine is a holistic approach to health and can offer benefits to virtually any type of condition.

How do I know its right for me?

Acupuncture is a natural form of treatment that is free of chemicals and toxins. When performed by a licensed practitioner, it is very safe and has no side effects. For that reason it is suitable for men, women and children.

Are the needles painful?

The short answer is NO. I practice Japanese Style Acupuncture which is a gentle form of acupuncture. The acupuncture needles are very thin and cause minimal pain upon insertion. In fact, 18 acupuncture needles can fit INSIDE a hypodermic needle (the needle that's used for drawing blood.)

The needles are sterile and disposed of after one use.

How often should I be seen?

When you wish to treat a condition and reduce your symptoms, it is recommended that you be seen twice a week to achieve the best results.

For maintaining your health and preventing disease it is recommended to be seen between once a month and once every four months. This depends on your age and your health.

The number of treatments that are required depends on the severity of your condition and how long you have been suffering from it. If you've been having symptoms for 3 months or more, it is considered a chronic condition and may take longer to treat.

How quickly can I expect results?

This depends on a few things. The first is how long you’ve been experiencing the issue. The longer time you've been dealing with this issue, the longer it will take to improve it.

The second thing that impacts your healing progress is your lifestyle. You will be given the tools to improve your self care routines to best support the healing process and then to maintain your well being.

Generally speaking, people experience significant improvements within 6 treatments but every person is very different so there is no standard time frame for this. It usually takes a little longer to completely resolve the issue.

Getting started with acupuncture is the first step on your healing journey toward improved well being, I am excited to walk with you on your journey!

Does insurance cover acupuncture?

Yes. Most insurance companies have some type of coverage. I can help you verify your benefits by calling your insurance.
